Phrenological Excuses and ACEO sized thumbnails

Somehow the holidays crashed onto my head, and I fell ill and fell behind on everything. The upside is that my darling lovely daughter came to visit for a week and she suggested that each day going forward this year, I do an ACEO sized sketch for no one but myself, to loosen up my creative juices (the last year of pet portraits has left me in a creative rut). This little exercise is great not only for creativity, but it is also great to hone up my drafting skills again on a different format than what I've been working in.
How will you exercise your skills outside your comfort zone?

  1. That's a great idea. I've seen so many people doing 365 photos, 365 paintings, the ACEOs seem much less daunting.

I'm trying to use up old supplies before they need to be carbon dated and work on one big (i.e. not Animini) sculpture or painting a week.

  2. My daughter has given me great ideas too. She encouraged me to write a blog and set the first template up for me on Spaces. What is the name of your blog she asked and in the split second she gave me, to come up with a name, Princess Haiku was born.

Good luck on your painting project. There is no telling where it will take you. Creative projects are like that.
