This is being delivered to the client tonight and is 36x24" soft pastel on stretched watercolor canvas. (all I can say is Unison pastels are the BEST).

  1. Dear Patrice,
    He's exquisite. Radiant and soulful.

Somewhat like the artist herself, I believe.

    We love and admire you.

  4. Lovely portrait! Yes! Unison pastels are the best - so soft and buttery. I wish I had more of them!

  5. It just sank into my tired brain that you did this on watercolour canvas. And my brain perked up and thought "Oooh, another support to try!" How do you like working on it? What pros and cons have you found? Do you finish the canvas in some way so that it doesn't need to be under glass? Okay, I'm off to dig up the watercolour canvas I have stashed away somewhere....

  6. I use Sennelier spray fixative between every layer of a painting and then three layers at least when done. And then I just let the rest go to serendipity. Yes, they are still slightly fragile, but not like they would be if they were on paper.

Thank you for the follow and most especially the kind words.
